Overworked > Bored

I would rather have too much to do and be overworked than have too little to do and be bored.

Thankfully, that'll never happen. I always find something to fill up my time, whether it's  through learning new languages (French and Ukrainian right now) or going to dancing events where I'm a complete beginner and where I get to feel the joy of learning something new with a beginner's mindset (keeps me humble, you know?).

Always having more to do and learn means always expanding and feeling stretched beyond my comfort zone. Always being busy and fitting 72 hours worth of stuff into 24 hours (a true comment I got) makes me always active. My brain constantly searches for ways to make my plans - impossible to many others - into reality.

That's what keeps me going. Being always busy is exactly what gives me the life energy to pursue even more of my passions and projects.

"But what about rest?" You might ask.

When I said I'm busy, I factored "rest" into that time. But the thing is, my form of rest is different than most people's. While everyone else "rests" their brain by numbing it with electronics, I "rest" my brain by doing more of what makes me feel alive.

I "rest" by learning more languages. I "rest" by working on my business. I "rest" by cleaning up my work area. I "rest" by doing activities that feel like work to others.

How do I do that? Easy - I know how to reframe anything in my life so it feels like rest rather than work. I easily make the most of every moment I have on this Earth, whether by "working" or "resting"

(You probably picked up already on how those two words are interchangeable to me)

And that's the simple truth of the matter. What's work to one person is rest to another. Most people play tennis for fun, but professionals play it for work. Some people crunch numbers for work, while kids enter math competitions and get a kick out of completing math equations. Some people love teaching little kids and do it even for volunteer work, while others would do anything to not be in the same room as rowdy kindergarteners. You get the point.

Work and rest are one and the same. Whether you choose to view one with a positive energy and another with a negative energy is up to you.

Tell me (or at least be honest with yourself): how is viewing work negatively impacting the way you show up in life outside of work? How is it impacting your rest time? How badly are you letting your mindset surrounding work drain you from truly living?

And now decide: will you finally choose to get out of that spiral that’s pushing you deeper into depression and a woe-is-me attitude that’s affecting all aspects of your life? Or will you stay stuck in that negatively and spiral deeper?

Are you alive or dead?

I would rather truly be alive than live like the walking dead (i.e. most of the population). I stay alive by taking in the world how it...
