I’m unbalanced, and I’m proud to admit that

It's because I’m not like average people, who run toward perfect work-life balance as if they’ll ever reach it

Me? I don’t indulge in such fantasies

I understand that balance doesn’t truly exist, only seasons do

Seasons of focusing more on romance

Seasons of focusing more on family

Seasons of focusing more on work and job advancement

Seasons of focusing more on yourself

But wait - did you notice me using the word MORE there?

Just because you focus MORE on certain aspects of life doesn’t mean you ignore others - you just prioritize them less

And this is why work-life balance is a myth

Because it’s impossible to clearly delineate where work you starts and rest-of-life you connects

Because it’s impossible to divide our life so sharply

Because we think of life at work and think of work while living life

Because we’re not meant to cut ourselves in half - we’re meant to live as wholes of ourselves wherever we go

Having a good life does not happen when you divide life into parts, but when you learn to integrate all of those parts into a whole - yourself, the real you, everywhere you go and whatever you do

Don’t you want to be whole instead of divided?

I certainly do - and that’s why I empower myself and my clients to be “unbalanced” - yet living a life that supports them in feeling whole again

This is your permission slip to stop dividing yourself with a mythical work-life balance

Start living as one whole, wildly complex, beautifully integrated you

Tell me (and acknowledge for yourself): What season are you in right now?
